Fall River Library Design
The design of a public library in Fall Fiver, MA that aims
to create a community center environment rather than
simply a library.
The program includes a community learning facility, a
comminity garden, gallery space, cafe/lounge, and
childern, young adult, and adult library sections.
The two masses come together at a pin point that creates
the circulation tower and atrium
Passive House Design
The design of a 2500SF home with a goal of craeting
the perfectly temperature controled hosue, passively.
The methods of doing so are large glazing covered in
louvers along the Eastern and Southern facades,
and thick concrete thermal masses on the Western
and Northern facades.
This allows for sunlight to come into the spaces and
heat during the day, and the heat stored in the
concrete to radiate and heat throughout the night.
This is the conceptual design of a self-sustaining community
in a rural area that is entirely walkable, therefore
eliminating the need for vehicles.
The design incorporates 4 housing nodes that branch from
the central loop of offices, retail, and community spaces.
